Getting Ready for Baby Gavin

This is the baby blanket that Alice crocheted for soon to
be born baby boy Gavin Ray Wright.
Made with "Soft Blue" color yarn that has a shiny white
thread running throughout.  It is crocheted using cluster stitches
of double crochets giving the blanket a shell like appearance.
The border is done with a scalloped shell
appearance and picot stitches.
Once Gavin's blanket was completed, Alice made
this one for her niece who is due to be born in
September.  It was crocheted with a more lacy look
and trimmed out with a 3/8" purple ribbon.

We are in total preparation mode for our little
son and can't wait 'til he's born!

"Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and
the fruit of the womb is his reward." Psalms 127:3

Rustic Live Edge Wide Plank Pine Benches

This is one of our completed live edge pine benches that a
customer ordered for an outdoor wedding.
We had just pulled the sawmill home from a portable job
where it was set up in a field with a beautiful view.

Jesse skip peeled the logs used for the bench legs
to give them a rustic look.
He skip peeled the sides of the planks as well.

After completing the construction of the benches,
Alice put on a coat or so of polyurethane
to finish them off.

Prices on these benches run anywhere from $150 to
$200 a piece varying on size.  We can also do custom
projects, just let us know what you need.  If it's made
out of wood we can probably build it.

Old-fashioned Recipe "Cream of Wheat"

"Cream of Wheat" is an old-fashioned pioneer and homesteading
recipe that only requires three simple ingredients and is a
super easy and quick breakfast to make on a busy farm morning.
It's also a great recipe for camping trips or any other time you
desire a warm cereal like oatmeal and it makes a very filling meal.

Made with freshly ground whole wheat flour
(we used red wheat)

We used unpasteurized milk straight from Alice's
brother and his wife's milk cow only yesterday morning.
Delicious!

 Per Serving:
1/4 cup wheat flour
1 cup milk
and about a 1/4 tsp. or so salt to taste
(this recipe may be multiplied to serve as many people as you need)

Add all ingredients into saucepan and cook over med heat (may vary
according to stove) stirring constantly until thick (generally
takes about ten minutes or so).

Serve warm with butter and maple syrup, honey, or sugar.
Enjoy!
