Strawberry Banana Bread Recipe

Hey y'all!  Normally when we have fresh fruit, it gets eaten up super fast, but the other day we actually had some extra strawberries and bananas that were getting overly ripe and needed to be used up really soon.  This is an awesome recipe, because it tastes soooooooo good and has turned out amazingly, delicious, and moist every time that I've ever made it.

This is one of those recipes that I have written on an old sticky note and just in my pile of recipes, but I'm not exactly sure where I got it.  I think it may be one that I wrote down from one of my grandma's or great-grandmother's, but anyway it is really good and always a favorite around here!

 Ingredients
4 (very) ripe bananas
1/3 cup melted butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup self-rising flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup diced fresh strawberries

Recipe
Preheat oven to 350.  With a potato masher, mash the bananas up real good.
I set some of the mashed banana aside and fed it
to Gavin, and he LOVED it!  He's such a good little helper.

Now, mix the melted butter into the mashed bananas, and stir in the sugar, egg, and vanilla.
Lastly, stir in the strawberries and pour batter into a buttered bread pan.

Bake for approx. 1 hour.  Let cool on a rack.  Best eaten still warm.

That's it!  And it is quite delicious for a
yummy breakfast, a snack, or at any meal.

What are some of your favorite recipes for using up over ripe fruit?
